Apple changes their layout

I'm sure I'll talk more in the future about the keynote today and the new aspects of Leopard, and I'm sure there will be some more details coming to light about Safari on Windows and Ajax on iPhone, but in the meantime, designers rejoice: there's a new apple.com. I'm not surprised; the Aqua gel button look has been around for ages, and Apple's kind of looked-to for design cues (I'm not getting into the hundreds of Aqua button tutorials submitted over the years). I think it looks pretty slick from the first couple minutes I've looked at it, and it looks equally well on black backgrounds as on white. There's also plenty of cool stuff going on on their subpages- check out the mouseover JavaScript, for example.

Aqua's been here for far too long anyway (at least the Aqua themed web development), it's about time for a change (and with Leopard dropping, it's good timing). I wonder when the first "omg new Apple buttons! make them!!!!" tutorial gets submitted on Good-Tutorials.
